Managing Director, Africa E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA), leads policy advocacy and research to advance e-mobility in Africa. 

Spearheaded Africa’s largest E-Mobility Data Portal and the Charge Africa MoU, securing key partnerships and policy reforms. Previously co-founded ARC Ride Kenya’s operations, scaling EV assembly and securing tax reductions. 

A published researcher, featured in CNN, Xinhua, and The East African. Holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical & Process Engineering from Moi University.

Leading e-mobility expert and Research Director at the Africa E-Mobility Alliance, with a background in International Relations, Journalism, Urban Planning, and Sustainability. 

Extensive experience across Africa, the Pacific, and Latin America, working in e-mobility in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Malawi. Consulted for the World Bank, UNEP, and GIZ. 

Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Cape Town, focusing on motorcycle taxis and accessibility in East Africa.

Sarah Bitamazire is Senior Operations Associate at the Africa E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA), where she drives operational efficiency and stakeholder coordination for sustainable transportation initiatives across the continent.

With a multilingual background and experience spanning diplomatic missions, policy development, and international organizations, Sarah brings strategic vision and implementation expertise to complex cross-cultural environments. 

Previously Chief Policy Officer at Lumiera and Political Advisor at the Swedish Parliament, her experience in the DRC, Sudan, and Europe informs her approach to operational leadership. Sarah holds a Master of Laws from Uppsala University specializing in International Human Rights Law.

Environmental scientist with expertise in sustainable development, impact assessments, and project management. 

Experienced in developing sustainability strategies, conducting research, and collaborating with stakeholders to implement effective environmental solutions. 

Skilled in data analysis, policy development, and community engagement, with a focus on promoting green technologies and advocating for policies that support environmental sustainability. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and committed to continuous learning and professional development.

Winnie Miranyi is an Operations and Research Associate, supporting organizational effectiveness through research, coordination, and operational planning. She contributes to evidence-based programming by conducting research, synthesizing data, and supporting the delivery of projects aligned with institutional priorities.

Her work bridges research and operations, ensuring insights inform planning, implementation, and reporting. Winnie supports stakeholder coordination, knowledge management, and operational processes that strengthen organizational performance and impact.

Mercy Mutai is an experienced Communications Strategist with over five years of professional experience in strategic communications, media engagement, and digital storytelling.

She specializes in designing and executing communications strategies that advance advocacy, policy influence, and development objectives. Her work focuses on shaping narratives that inform public discourse, support evidence-based decision-making, and engage diverse stakeholders. Her expertise includes communications strategy development, message framing for policy and advocacy campaigns, media engagement, strategic content planning, and digital platform oversight, with a strong emphasis on institutional positioning, audience engagement, and brand credibility across owned and earned media.

Mercy is also a freelance contributor to Daily Nation and The Standard, with bylines covering gender, development, sustainability, and social change.

Manages executive scheduling, correspondence, and strategic initiatives at Africa E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA). Previously worked as a Virtual Assistant and Social Media Manager, supporting startups and small businesses in content strategy, social media growth, and digital marketing. Also served as a Sociologist at China Wu Yi Co. Ltd., leading community engagement and project coordination. Holds a BA in Community Development from Moi University, with certifications in Virtual Assistance, AI Career Essentials, and Digital Marketing. Passionate about youth empowerment, sustainability, and online work.
